Acythian - Renegade

Acythian is a cyberpunk/noir themed first person shooter game.

Plot summary: A retired special forces agent infiltrates the headquarters of a religious cult to rescue his prodigal daughter. Hereby being unwillingly dragged into a widespread conspiracy.

As a linear, narrative driven game, Acythian tries to build on lore and atmosphere to draw haunting science fiction environments and believable, fleshed out characters that inhabit this world. The game is set in a distant future where humanity has been starkly decimated by drawn out wars and nature is regaining a lot of territory. 

The main plot line is relatively straight forward but the game has a strong focus on a fully realized world surrounding it. While you'll be infiltrating the citadel, the headquarters of an influential religious cult, you will also get a good impression of the lore and world surrounding this place. Acythian is a first person shooter at its core while also implementing very light adventure game mechanics. 

This game is currently having a fully playable beta demo you can try out and, if you happen to find the time, feedback on it would be very valuable to me.

Thank you for downloading and giving this Demo a go! You can run it by launching 1.exe.

The levels in this demo are not in order, the demo therefore does not make narrative sense.

This is a Beta Version and there is some known jank and a few bugs. Please take a minute to read this before you try the game:

• * There are sound issues with sounds not playing or stopping playing at awkward moments.
• * There is no quest log yet. Once you have the computer from the building in level 1, just head back the way you came in.
• * The dialog script of the receptionist in level 2 is bugged. This is not that big of a deal as this conversation is optional.
• * If you manage to hold a gun in level 2, that is a bug and should normally not happen. Any of the guns you can take in level 2 are not supposed to be in your inventory.
• * The enemies in level 3 may be a bit goofy but can kill you in 1 hit. Be careful.
• * Level 4 is pretty tough. Play it carefully :)
• * The game came out a bit too bright which alters the atmosphere a little. This is not a big deal tough and will be fixed going forward.
